Almost there!

Yesterday marked the 7th chemo treatment...only one more and I'm finished with chemo...then just the radiation to go!! I'm feeling great and looking forward to the freedom from going to Vanderbilt so often.

Eagle Watch

Phil and I had errands to run in Clarksville yesterday (post office and library to get the 8th Miss Julia book!!), and we went the long way home trying to find Lock B Road again. That's where we saw the mature bald eagle a few months ago. We have tried to retrace our route several times but have been unsuccessful until yesterday. We did find the road (!!), but we didn't see any eagles. However, we'll try again now that we can find Lock B Road. At least we saw some of Montgomery County that even Phil had never seen--and that was fun!

Church today

Today was the first time in a lo-o-ong time that I've felt like going to church. It was wonderful to be there--nothing like being there in person!! There's no describing how much I've missed it...

Out at last!!!!

I finally overcame the cabin fever!! Phil and I went to Sam's and Tractor Supply yesterday to get food for all the animals and birds. It was great getting out of the house! Before we got back home, it was spitting snow again, but today all the snow is gone in Montgomery County. However, Dickson County was out of school again today, so Blake had a 4-day weekend. He is smiling!!

It's a GREAT snowy day!

We woke up today with a covering of "white stuff" on the ground! That was at 6 a.m. It's now 9:30, and most of it has melted. That's a good thing because Phil has an appointment this afternoon to get the shot in his back that blocks the nerves and makes him feel lots better. The joint problem that I had earlier with the new chemo med is much better today, but I'll definitely be ready for that side effect next time. I'm ready to get out and do something! "Cabin fever" has set in! I'll report later about how I've cured the fever!!

I'm ba-a-a-a-ack!

Yesterday I finished my 5th chemo treatment, and, as my doctor promised, I don't feel "green"!!! In fact I feel really well. Because Phil is teaching 3 Anatomony and Physiology labs at Austin Peay this semester and has a lab on Fridays, Blair took a day from school and took me to my treatment. We had a good day together (when I wasn't sleeping off the intervenous Benedryl they gave me before my actual infusion!). I'm officially over half finished with chemo, and then all that's left is 6 weeks of radiation. One good thing about staying inside so much lately has been my opportunity to catch up on my reading. I've been introduced to a new author--Mary Kay Andrews. Her books are fairly good, light reading although not quite as entertaining as "Miss Julia". I've also been reading Linda Nichols and Karen Kingsbury and have enjoyed their books as well.

A really great day!!

Well, it's the 6th day after my chemo treatment...and I feel really human again!! I woke up feeling good and hope to get a few things done today (like some long overdue scrapbooking and more reading!! Important stuff--not dishes or dusting--ha, ha) I'm even going out with Phil for a drive while he runs some errands!! Even though it's really c~o~l~d out, I have a bad case of cabin fever--gotta get out for a little while! It's going to be a great day!!!
